I am an avid reader, I love reading I was not always that way though, I use to dread it and put if off hoping there would be a movie of it someday. However a few years ago I decided I needed to read, it would be good for me, so I decided the 30-40 mins I wait in the pickup line waiting on my kids to get out of school I would take that time to read, because let’s face it I can find distractions I don’t need help in that department. I took it day by day and before you know it I had read an entire book! That’s where it started and now 4 years later I am still reading every school day in the pickup line.
One of the books I read last year is called Oola: Find Balance in an Unbalanced World by Dave Braun and Troy Amdahl, I blazed through this book; looking forward to my daily reading time so when I heard they had written a book just for women I knew I needed it. I pre-ordered it through Barnes and Noble and couldn’t wait the 3 months for its release. Well I didn’t have to, when I was chosen along with several other bloggers to read and review Oola for Women.
Oola for Women is AMAZING! I didn’t want to stop reading it, so I will admit the first two nights I had it, yep I stayed up an extra hour just to read more of it. Add this book to your reading this for this summer, this year, or grab it for a Mother’s day gift!
Oola is living a balanced life and growing in 7 key areas of health and wellbeing. Using the 7 F’s, Faith Fitness, Finance, Friends, Family, Field, and Fun.
The authors take you on a journey of understanding the importance of all 7 areas of your life. Showing you how to make change and grow. The stories are inspirational and motivational, I felt a personal connection to many of the stories from women in this book. They reached out and touched my heart and soul. The women share their struggles, successes, discouragement, and renewed faith. No matter where you are in your journey, this book is a must have not only a captivating read but an excellent resource that you will be able to use again and again as we all have different season throughout our lifetime.
This is not your typical self-help book, I have read many and so many of them are quite similar. Usually raw and in your face but never telling you steps for making change, the back of this book has tools to help you discover what needs work most and tips to help you get started on making changes to better yourself.
After reading this book I felt inspired, ready to work on my areas I needed most to work on. Which I will admit I was surprised to learn that my Faith needed the most help. This last year I have not been faithful in my tithing I do it occasionally but not every month as I know I should and I have withdrawn from church instead of finding a church that feels like home I have been watching online; which doesn’t give me the interaction and fellowship that I need. I am working on finding a church again and tithing faithfully, I even started a journal again with my prayer time and deep conversations with God.
Friends there are areas of our lives that we just ROCK and areas that we just need a little help, so let’s ROCK our lives and be the best versions of ourselves; grab your book and be a Oola Women with me!
I want to give a BIG Thank You to the Oola guys for writing this book! It has touched me and inspired me in a loving way!
